Royal Series
The Royal was the bottom of a four car range. Based on a 1942 model it was powered by a 6 cyclinder 250 cid engine producing 114 bhp. The car could be ordered with a standard or long wheelbase. In standard wheelbase format came as a 2 or 4 door sedan, or a 3 or 6 seater coupe. The long wheelbase version sat 8 passengers as a sedan or limo. Standard equipment on the Royal included armrests on both front doors, directional signal, entrance light, cigar lighter with illuminated ashtray, dual outside front door locks, luggage compartment light and dual speed electric wipers. There were very few changes for the 1947 model year. A notable change included the availability of white-wall tyres from April 47. Few changes were made for 1948 as the restyled 1949 was being prepared. Cars built after 1st December 1948 were considered to be First Series 1949 models.
Windsor Series
The Windsor was an upgraded version of the Royal and therefore included such luxuries such as front carpet a rear seat folding armrest. They were identified from Royals by a nameplate on both sides of the hood. Town and Country sedans were wood-bodies models in the range. In addition to the body variants offered in the Royal range a Windsor convertible was offered. There were very few changes for 1947. Although a traveller was added to the range of styles available. Few changes were made for 1948 as the restyled 1949 was being prepared. Cars built after 1st December 1948 were considered to be First Series 1949 models.
Saratoga Series
This was an eight-cylinder version of the Royal level of trim. The model was offered in 4 forms, as per the standard wheelbase Royal. However its wheelbase was 6 inches longer. Like all the models in the Chrysler range for 1947 there were very few changes. Few changes were made for 1948 as the restyled 1949 was being prepared. Cars built after 1st December 1948 were considered to be First Series 1949 models.
New Yorker Series
The New Yorker was a better appointed version of the Saratoga. Two convertibles were available in the range. A standard and a wood bodied version. There were few changes for 1947. The Town & Country was only available as a 2dr convertible, the 4dr sedan being dropped from the range. Few changes were made for 1948 as the restyled 1949 was being prepared. Cars built after 1st December 1948 were considered to be First Series 1949 models.
